The Vaporfly 4 is a lean, mean, mile-eating machine. We trimmed weight in the midsole, outsole and upper from the Vaporfly 3 without sacrificing performance. The result is a lighter, more propulsive all-around racing shoe that's trusted from the mile to the marathon. Lighter upper, midsole and outsole than the previous model. Higher plate angle. Lower heel-to-toe drop. Nike ZoomX, our most responsive foam, just got lighter. Running from heel to toe, it unlocks even more energy return than before with a slight midsole reduction, giving you a bouncy feel. The full-length carbon fibre Flyplate sits at a higher angle compared to the plate in the Vaporfly 3. It combines with a lower heel-to-toe drop to give you a propulsive feel on race day. We reduced the weight of the outsole by using a thinner rubber compared to the Vaporfly 3. Engineered mesh helps reduce the weight of the shoe while providing a more consistent fit.
